The year 2022 was notable for the oldest continuously operating business in The Buckeye State: Kuebler Shoes. The 190-year-old shoe store changed ownership earlier this year and recently moved into a new location.
New owners Kymberlee and Klinton Wood relocated the store from the west side of Tiffin to the flourishing downtown and promised to continue serving the community for many years to come.
“And being next door to the amphitheater, we know a lot of people come and participate in those events. We thought this would be a great location for us to help the community and make sure we’re right here for them,” Kymberlee Wood said.
According to Wood, the new Kuebler location at 191 E Market St. Tiffin, Ohio, is more centralized. It has less congestion and offers more space inside.
The local economy of downtown Tiffin is also expected to grow further following the addition of the state’s longest-running business. As Bryce Riggs, the executive director at the Seneca Regional Chamber of Commerce, said: “It just continues to add to the experience. I think that’s one thing about downtown Tiffin that the community has done a really great job in making this a special place.”
Kuebler Shoes was established in 1832 and has been serving the Tiffin market for all of its footwear needs since then. The new owners assured that although they have changed location, they will still keep the wonderful customer service that regular patrons all know and love.
“Our goal is to continue the same quality, the comfort, the care, taking time, and make sure people have the right fit,” Kymberly said. “It’s part of the community, we don’t need to change that, just make it ours and bring in a few new styles.”
Kuebler Shoes stocks nearly 6,000 pairs of high-quality shoes for women, men, and children. They also carry a wide range of handbags, wallets, and shoe care products and accessories. The newly moved store in downtown Tiffin keeps the same operating hours and is open from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday and from 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursdays.
